For centuries healing crystals have been used as talisman for a number of reasons, when it comes to a protection stone my go to has always been the mysterious Fire Agate.

For as long as I can remember, I've always worn crystals based on their healing energies and properties.

My go to gemstones for pendant has been citrine, fire agate and in the last five years, shungite.

When I want the energy of the stone to be with me constantly, I wear as a pendant as I rarely take them off.

Citrine, the merchant stone, is a crystal of joy and abundance and it's in my happy go lucky demeanour that people see.

As someone that's going through the menopause, I started wearing Shungite to help with the healing and the changes that my body is going through, with it being black, it's a powerful protection and grounding stone and went for the rough druzy version, with it's different shades and colours, as its energy is more powerful and pure, and because of this I stopped wearing the Fire Agate.

I now find myself in a situation where I need the supportive energy of Fire Agate, although it is a brown stone fabulous for grounding and protection, for the way it works and I'm feeling it's absence within my energy field.

Fire Agate is a karmic stone, as I'm not somebody who's into revenge, my natural instinct is when someone does me wrong to let it slide and let karma deal with it, and this is where this gorgeous stone comes into play, as well as shielding and protecting the wearer from negativity, it returns that negativity back to the source so that they can feel the consequences and learn the lessons of their actions.

 

It's very rare that I actually make a piece of jewellery specifically for myself although I create commissions for my customers on a regular basis, but I found myself in a situation where I needed that extra protection and to teach those that have bad intentions to both my business and myself, due to jealousy and envy, a karmic lesson.

In previous years, I would just taken a Fire Agate nugget, placed it within a wire basket and worn that as my pendant but I started reacting to the base metals of the basket, as I sleep with my pendants, so I took this opportunity to create a contemporary minimalistic pendant gorgeously elegant Marquise Fire Agate cabochon that I had been saving for a special customer commission, little did I know at the time, that it would be me!!!

it's funny creating a pendant for yourself as a self-taught metalsmith jeweller, with a specific intention in mind, I just made the design using my intuition, going with the flow to create this one of a kind piece for myself.

All my designs are always driven and inspired by the stone itself, the beauty of handcrafted and handmade items as it can be personalised and with this pendant I stamped the fire on the back representing the energy of the fire agate which is exhibited when the light hits the stone.
