New Arfvedsonite Rings
New Arfvedsonite Rings
The thing that I love about running Joolzery is that it allows me the luxury and indulgence to find new and unusual stones.
Usually I'm not a fan of black stones because black is black but with these gorgeous faceted Arfvedsonite stones that draw you in so that you find these lush blue flashes.
I'm not normally a fan of black stones, but when they are Arfvedsonite, the stone for Manifestations, with these gorgeously golden and blue flashes you make an exception
Always on the lookout for something different, Mysterious hidden characteristics and anything that Jeremy catches the inner magpie in me. I have many stones on my wish list that I have found in the good old crystal Bible but I've never seen in real life so when my suppliers offer them to me it seems a little bit rude to say no.Arfvedsonite Is such a stone with its deep black matrix that hides some wonderful gold and blue flashes when the light catches them?.
Unfortunately, when you order stones on the Internet, they do appear bigger, So when I received them and they were smaller, my plans to turn them in independence had to change and I decided to make a pair of rings.
I love working with unusual shape stones as a self-taught jeweller. This is one way I can practice and improve my Stone setting technique and skills..
Using traditional metal sniffing jewelry techniques I created two settings for each stone and the ringing shanks to connect them to the problem was with the pebble shape of the stones whether they should be set vertically or horizontally.
Whenever I find myself in a situation where I can't decide on one on the other, I do both and let the customer decide.
Starting with the ring shank, I decided to go with an octagonal contemporary shape textured with random vertical strokes to re-create the flashes within the Arfvedsonite matrix.
And decided to set this setting in the horizontal orientation
Seeing how the facet cut and the flushes within the Arfvedsonite cabochon would look in the horizontal orientation. I was well pleased with my handy work..
The second ring would have the Arfvedsonite Stone set in the more traditional horizontal orientation, wanting to keep the ring as contemporary minimalist as possible I decided on the same pattern on a hexagonal ring shank.
Having the rings side-by-side with the two different orientations of the stone, I still really can't decide which orientation I love best:
Supercharged with energy, Arfvedsonite is capable of calming your emotional body whilst still maintaining a cool collective demanour.
;A perfect stone for in times of distress, as it pushes you to internalise your feelings until you are within a safe space or with loved ones where they can be vocalised, allowing you to maintain an image of strength, whist allowing you subconsciously to remain in deep thought.
What stone setting orientation do you prefer?
