Pluto, the God of the Underworld, and the modern ruler of Scorpio, goes into retrograde on the 6th May 2026 until the 16th October 2026 in the sign of Aquarius, turning the energy inward, inviting you to undertake deep contemplation and healing.

When Pluto appears to be moving backwards in the sky, the visual backward motion is known as Pluto Retrograde, which happens once a year, as a brutal master, he has an unrivalled ability to break down structured existence, bringing about transformation.

Pluto symbolises how we experience:

• Death,
• Renewal,
• Rebirth and
• Hidden or subconscious forces.

If Uranus breaks and Neptune dissolves then Pluto destroys, in comparison to the Neptune mists and Uranus lightning bolts, Pluto is an atomic bomb. 

That said, Pluto retrograde transits can deliver us to and from the brink of our subconscious, suspending us above the gapping chasms of our deepest, darkest selves.  We all possess those dark thoughts and stuff that we brush under the carpet or lock in vaults to silence and suppress.

During this period it gives us the opportunity to dive deep below the surface and better acquaint ourselves with this psychic, subconscious matter.  Pluto is a slow moving planet, whose transits last 3 or more years, its retrograde are immensely important, dominating years of our lives.
